“Your memory is a monster; you forget—it doesn’t. It simply files things away. It keeps things for you, or hides things from you—and summons them to your recall with will of its own. You think you have a memory; but it has you!”
 John Irving

We live by creating memory. Memory fragments, emerges uncontrollably or is recalled, makes us what we are and what we will be. Our very identity is simply and fragilely based on memories: without memory, what are we?

Every time a memory resurfaces it comes back to mind with a slightly different outfit, a new detail, a brighter colour or perhaps a mutilation, creating a multitude of emotional images that accompany us through life that increase as time passes, crowding out the present and the future. Memory or illusion?

Three figures placed outside of time create and live these changing images dancing between the universal and the particular. Fused in a fluid succession of bodies and forms they draw familiar places and primordial landscapes. Firmly anchored to the body as reality they develop a self-ironic struggle to discover a hysterical identity.
