SHAME ON YOU
1 DAY WORKSHOP with final sharing
duration: 6 HR
with: Sadi & Camilla Giani
This workshop project is born as a spin off from KITSCH research project. The lab is open to a maximum of 7 performers, actors, dancers or anyone who wants to get involved!
The workshop will last six hours, the last hour will be open to the public.
The idea is to give symbolic value to the imitative act aroused by a sound associated with an imaginary, to extract its creative and ritual aspect through the manipulation of the sound environment, inspired by the tradition of karaoke.
6 hours of work to create a ritual structure into which everyone can insert their own purpose, knowing that there are three elements that constitute the norm of any ritual action: the body, the symbol and repetition.
Participants will be asked to choose a piece of music with which to participate in the workshop. and which must be submitted at the time of registration. The song should be one that you have imagined yourself singing on a stage in front of thousands of people if only…. you were a rock star…
These songs will become the basic tool for the workshop’s body and music research.
In the first part of the workshop we will explore on the possible relations with music and rhythm. We will explore sounds on a character base. Then we will work on each song to capture, through the imagery triggered by the sound or character associated with it, movement codes that will become the working tools for everyone. Subsequently the pieces will be deconstructed and manipulated and the body will necessarily be involved in this transformation.
In the final part of the workshop, a set will be created within which to define a choreographic structure that will allow the group performing this ritual to make a journey of transformation through ecstasy, to free themselves from the concept of identity and arrive at that of freedom.
